Underage Drinking

We have friends who find nothing wrong with allowing their 16 year olds to drink. They allow them to have beer pong parties with their friends (because they are doing it in their home) and allow them to try different types of wines (In their words "to make them a connoisseur of wine").

We find this unacceptable as if they are doing it at home, you know they are doing it elsewhere and these kids are able to drive now so I can not believe that none of them ever drive home drunk.

What does everyone think of this?

Why assume the op is made up? Posters have already admitted that they drank underage too, Perhaps it's more common than she thought.

To the mods: This format is terrible. I have stopped by a few times over the last few years, but never bothered posting. Now that I have posted a few times, I have to say, this is NOT user friendly. There is no way to follow who is responding to whom, it is difficult to log in, sometimes I see the sidebar with the links to PMs and other times I don't, edits don't always "take" and the page reloads spontaneously every so often for no apparent good reason.

<> You realize, don't you, that more than a few of us here, including me, PKA, bord, garnet, and puss are not strangers. That we do know each other IRL. Some of us extensively.

Hell, I'm 41 and I'm not a connoisseur yet. No way will my kid be one in a year.

I suspect she wouldn't know a foodie if she tripped over the organic farmer delivering the Kobe beef and Chilean sea bass ;)

Oy. iVillage's message coding is just a mess.....
