Interesting article on vacation time.

http://gma.yahoo.com/french-most-vacation-feel-least-satisfied-110639121--abc-news-travel.html

The bottom line is that many Americans do not take their earned vacation time.

In my experience of both myself and people that I know is most that have  set use or loose vacation time generally use it.

How much vacation time I have at the end of the year determines my last work day for the year,. If I do not use a vacation day then I am basically working for free.

Those who vacation time can carry over and or they can sell that vacation time back generally do not take all of thier time. They save it for "what ifs" or extra income.

That worked very well for DH this year.  Because he had so much accrued time he was able to take a lot of time off for family issues this week and still has enough to be off all of this week and all of Chistmas week.

Pumpkin, don't waste time typing. That particular poster has some kind of problem with my current country of residence. It is not your problem or mine, however.

I find it a bit amusing, the poster that has problems with whole countries, states and geographical regions.  I agree, certainly not our issue.

Pumpkin, young Greeks use an expression: "hairo poly!" which is sort of like the American "thank you, Captain Obvious!" I imagine anyone who reads a newspaper once in a while is aware that there is currently horribly high unemployment in the Mediterranean region, especially among the young.

My first thought was similar, like this was ground breaking news or something?  But hey, it made me laugh and go look at something that was interesting, like a break down by country.

Little known fact:

I am singlehandedly responsible for the downfall of Detroit. I've chased away about a half million people. It was pretty easy, really. I was able to halt the demand for domestic automobiles while simultaneously burning all of the profits by handing out health care and pensions to the autoworkers like they were candy.

C'mon Mops. Fess up. We know what you did to Greece. You'll feel a lot better when you get it off your chest.
