We're going to an indoor water park for a few days over spring break, but staying home for the most part.
Both of my sister's children are getting married this summer, one in Ann Arbor, and the other in Bermuda!
this weekend we took the time to secure some plans/dates while leaving others up in the air..to my surprise, DH told me friends from his HS are planning a 30 year reunion on FB, it's planned for 07/10 which happens to be one week before my cousin's wedding back home.

Just yesterday, I reserved our week at the beach this summer. We were also invited to dh's cousin's wedding in upstate NY over Mem. Day Weekend. He was going to go by himself and be his mother's date, but now we are contemplating all going and taking the kids on a side trip to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame. If we opt against that, I'll end up taking the kids to the beach for Mem Day weekend while dh goes to the wedding (frankly, I'd prefer that option!).
Spring Break for my kids is a 10-day break before and after Easter. We may go down to Williamsburg with the kids for a few days. Two of my kids have been studying that area in social studies and have asked if we could go. It's only a 3-hr trip so we may take a couple days and go do that.
We're also going down to the beach for a few days after the kids get out of school. It's become a tradition for us and two other families. While there, we also do a day trip out to Assateague Island which the kids love.
That's about all we have planned. I'd love to go out to California with the kids this summer to visit MIL and extended family, but we can't afford it since we were just there in Oct for a wedding. We'll go either for winter break at Christmas time or wait until spring break next year.
LOL, yeah, I want to hyperventilate into a paper bag at the idea. I thought long and hard before saying yes. My DH and I discussed it for a day and got back to her.
Ultimately, we just couldn't say no. She's been raising her grandchildren ALONE for the last few years. Both the kids' parents are out of the picture, she's on welfare because of it, and then she WON A TRIP TO VEGAS. But of course she can't go unless someone she trusts can watch the kids.
I mean seriously, I would have felt like a total tool if I had said no. The little boy is super excited at the idea of living with both a mom and a dad.
