Maybe it has nothing to do with relations after all, Aye...  My take is this logic follows the same lines as those that believe you get pg on the pill too, Heaven forbid you get called to task and questioned whether you took it correctly..

Possible but rare. I've got a case of inter-femural sex that ended in a pregnancy in the 9th century.

I think the Catholic Church as a whole is too large to say "it" is much of anything accurately. I think that the instructional structure and many members of the hierarchy of the church cartainly reflect and propagate misogyny.

Partly because of the unequal roles for men and women within the clergy, partly because of the deep-rooted theological justifications for the inequality. Why do you think I have arrived at my conclusions because of "gossip," Jamblessed? That is a very unkind and unfounded accusation.

Why?  Because they aren't in roles you want them to be in?  Was Jesus in a role he wanted to be in?  Seriously, Misogyny is what you make up in your head or follow as gossip, You might want to read the Pope's latest remark about gossip which just came out today by the way.  I trust what he has to say and actual women in called pastorial positions than this bias less rooted in fact.

But hey, May these women who get pg through immaculate conception follow the way of Mary instead of abortion.

Not unkind, You have a pattern of making up stories or following myths about unequal roles, I don't buy this one and it's spoken like a true non-catholic. How many catholic women do you know in pastorial roles? Many? I know more than a handful that laugh at the joke that there is mysogyny in the church, Lol, They're not in their positons b/c they believed such hogwash.

If a woman (or a man) can't fill a role solely because of the fact of their sexes, then it is not a myth that their are unequal roles for men and women in an institution. I do not believe in the myth of "separate but equal," and I never have. And when those separate spheres for men and women exclude women from most of the roles in a patriarchal, hierarchical system, yes, women and their voices are shut out from the higher echelons where decisions are made and executed. That is not a myth. That is a fact.

I never thought you were so old school bord... Womens' roles in the catholic church alone have moved beyond just dark coifs.

I m not "old school" Jamblessed. Are you telling me that their are women bishops, archbishops, cardinals? That women are among the electors for the papacy, even eligible for the papacy? How many female theologians have you got teaching at the most important seminaries? How many female confessors holding men (and women) accountable for their actions?

Could this be from getting pregnant like artificial insemination? I can't believe that anyone would get pregnant without coming into some contact with a man.
