Is it acceptable to wear a white blouse to a wedding??

What about just a wedding reception?

I just read the other day (in Redbook, I think) that it is perfectly fine to wear a white dress to a wedding as long as it's not *wedding-dress like*. And black, too, as long as it's not funeral wear.

My mil wore a white dress at our wedding. It was a beaded thing that was to the knee. She was fairly overweight, so this was something that she found that fit and she liked. I didn't care. No one was going to mistake her for the bride!

Yup. In this day and age, absolutely! As long as it isn't head to toe white, you're fine.

Thanks Guys :)

I've been IN so many weddings in the last few years, I've never really thought much about what to wear as a regular guest! You know, I knew I had been picking up dressy clothes here and there as I lost weight, but when I pulled them out to decide on somethng, I realized the entire mess of it was black and white, entirely. Wearing all black to a June wedding seemed worse, LOL. Anyhow - I counted five other women with either a white top or white bottom, so I felt pretty relieved when I got there.

Thanks again, I always know I can count on you ladies for last minute questions!
