It was one sturdy car though, gotta say, and built to handle dirt roads (as I remember it). We had the 2CVs with a cloth roof that could be rolled back, chabriolet style @@. Once my mother was driving us to or from the country house, and it was a dark and stormy night, rainy too. The roof was only held in place by a couple of hooks going around a rod. Every time a giant trailer truck roared by, the gust it created made the roof fly off. After sticking it on several times, she finally folded it over the rod that ran above the back seat and had the 3 kids hold it. Meanwhile she was driving down the highway in the storm without cover. No wonder she hated those cars too.
