I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

So they could have changed their mind at any time and spent more time in one place and less than in another?

So how is that different?

Such as? I'm not getting that from reading the posts, at all.

We are going to different places this year for our vacation.

Again, a different place would be something other than a warm beach place. A cruise to Alaska versus the island. A cruise to Europe versus the islands. Something different outside of what has already been done.

A different place to me is doing something different. Why wouldn't a different island be someplace different? Bermuda is not the Caribbean. A totally different cruise ship with much more things to do is not the same as one you might have gone on before. I would cruise a million times and find each time different. Different people to meet, different experiences, different places to visit, etc.

Yes, agreed. Because charter tours were really popular in Europe when I was a kid, my extremely frugal (ok, cheap) dad would cruise the charter sales for cheap tours. WIth 5 people, most of these were way cheaper than regular air fare. Once we got to the destination, we would do our own thing. Very often we did not even use the hotel that was included, except on the first and last night. We had some good trips that way.

The only place I would use a pre-packaged tour for sure is Iceland. Several articles I read recommend this because it is otherwise both difficult and very expensive to get around the island. Apparently you are better off being taken around in an SUV with an experienced guide/driver.

What kind of packaged trip was it? What was in "the package?"

I didn't find the buses to be that bad. They were not much of a wait and no tolls everytime we drove in-lol!!

I think my question isn't being read and answered because the answer would confirm my point, it's not a misunderstanding.

That's the problem with presenting yourself as something that you're not.

We skipped the busses this last trip, too. Much quicker to pile everyone into the rental car and drive to the parks we wanted to go to. We *did* ride a bus the night we went to the Hoop Dee Doo Revu (you have to park on the far end of Fort Wilderness from the review hall), but that was it. And I don't think the bus patrons really appreciated our family's brand of fun/humor :D

We eat at a fair number of chains when traveling - particularly when we're with the kids - but not chains that we have here.
