I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

So you have not taken your children out of the country since they have been older?

You all might think this is sad, but it is a rule that anyone who lives in my state must eat at Olive Garden when they are out in the rest of the states.

They advertise often here, but they won't move here.

lol

I am so not an Olive Garden fan. We've been a couple of times with the kids in recent memory, but I prefer not to.

Well, I would hope that people only take their families on vacations they can afford. What does that have to do with my response? You can still go on affordable vacations w/o going to Disney and cruises through the Caribbean and give your children experiences that are different than going to various beachy vacation/cruises in the Caribbean or to Disney. Obviously you prefer to do that, but really, the vacation in and of itself is relatively similar even though you are going to different islands. That's fine, but I think the point people here are trying to make is that they aren't really that varied of an experience. I get that people like to go someplace warm and relaxing for vacation - I do too. I've been to both Hawaii and St. John - too very different locations, and even though we had different experiences in both places, they were still in the end, similar in that they were warm, sunny, beach vacations. Nothing wrong with that but I don't have a problem realizing that if that's the only kind of vacation I took, my kids wouldn't really be having varied experiences. That's all some people like to do when they go on vacation, but then don't act like it's truly so different each time.

It is not real Italian food and they charge too much. I would rather go to a real Italian restaurant. Unfortunately my kids love the breadsticks so on occasion we go but I try to avoid it as much as possible-lol!!

On a side note because I HAD to laugh while watching HSN today. The woman who was selling "Breezies" had on a pair of skinny pants (not sure if they were jeans or leggings) and peep-toe boots on (which you could see)-lol!!! AND...she was middle-age (probably in her late 50's).

We do these places mostly for the cruises as we love to cruise. A cruise can go all over and again, right now, these are the ones that are affordable to us.
I am sure there are other places that are affordable, inside the U.S. but this is what we have chosen in the last few years. Compared to other people I know who go to the same places every single year, we are exposing our children to different places and things.
Who knows in the future we will take the kids on a Medittearean one or one to Hawaii, Tahiti. You never know.

I can see why you'd be tired of it. But we are deprived of it, lol. That and the marketing--I know it's not authentic. If it was here, I'm sure people would tire of it if they went a lot. But there would be long long lines, for quite awhile. LOL I'd probably wait a year to go, until the wait/lines died down.

Okay, can you tell me where you stayed off-site? My kids want to go to Disney, and I want to take them while they are at this age, but I really do not want the "everything Disney" experience of staying on-site. The place you stayed sounds like just the place for us.
