I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

Well, most cruises go from specified port to specified port and give X amount of time in each. I prefer determine how much time I spend in a city not the cruise ship. I may want to spend an extra day or two in "X" city and completely bypass "Y" city. I may want to go somewhere the cruise ship cannot or don't.

But you said you want to take a cruise, correct?

It was especially great when we realized we were a 5-10 minute walk to King's Cross Station AND Sirius Black's house was a 10 minute walk to Kings Cross Station. We kept looking for it, but unfortunately, we are muggles through and through.

I value my family but I also value where I spend my time with them.

I wouldn't want to be limited like that, in either place.

Dh is one of five kids. Every two years or so, we ALL manage to get together for vacation even though we are spread out all over. We used to just get together at MIL's house near San Francisco but I hated always using vacation time/money to go to the same place. So then one year for Thanksgiving we all went to Hawaii. Every sibling plus spouses and kids and MIL. Another year, we all met in Seattle together. A couple of years ago, everyone came here to go to the beach in MD. Last year, we all met again in San Fran for BIL's wedding. There have been other occasions where we've gotten together with some but not all of his siblings. We met MIL and SIL in upstate NY this spring for a wedding and over Christmas break, we are meeting MIL, BIL and his wife and soon to be baby in NYC for the holidays.

It takes work and flexibility, but where there's a will, there's a way. Fortunately, so far, finances and time off have not been an issue for anyone.

I want to take a cruise *in my dotage*- that means when I can't really get along very well anymore. I will need the amenities a ship offers and won't care about the restrictive itinerary or restaurant offerings.

I have never had to because schedules and obligations have never worked out to have a extended family vacation.
