I think we need a little fluff :)
1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?
2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?
3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?
Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

<<I have gone out of state for weddings, long weekends and considered that a vacation. .>>
I've done those and many times have not considered them a vacation.
My mom will come and visit us and we all get together and do things then.
Otherwise, my other extended family who lives closer get together more often.
I agree and that is my largest complaint about a cruise vacation or really any "packaged vacation tour".
Years ago, we used to go visit dh's family at least once a year at MIL's on the West Coast. We could afford the trips for two reasons: we didn't have as many kids yet and dh had a ton of frequent flyer miles. Dh rarely travels now, so we are lucky to get one free ticket when we fly as a family now. So after years of always going to either MIL's house or to the family condo at Tahoe, I told dh that while I loved to see his family, I wished we didn't have to use our "vacation" money every year to visit his family. Around that time, his whole family planned a trip to Hawaii and we had such a great time. I wanted our kids to start seeing other parts of the country rather than just San Francisco. So the next year, I suggested we go to Seattle - dh's sister lives there. It started out just us and we invited MIL to meet us there. But when everyone heard we were going, the rest of his family decided to meet us there. We extended our trip and went up to Vancouver with MIL, BIL and his family as well.
Since then, the siblings all discussed that we would try to ALL get together at least once every two years and we'd alternate places near the West Coast and places near the East Coast. The next time, everyone came here to go to the beach. This past year, BIL got married in San Fran, so that was our family gathering for that year.
We haven't figured out where we are going to go next, but we are thinking of trying someplace in the middle. Thankfully, dh's family are all seasoned travelers and enjoy doing this so it works out well. Admittedly though, it wouldn't work if one family couldn't afford it, didn't like to travel, or didn't like using vacation time to get together with family.
When dh adn I went to Cozumel, we specifically chose a non-all-inclusive resort/hotel because we wanted to determine our own intineraries and dining choices. We found a couple of really great out-of-the-way, non-commercialized restaurants that we would have never experienced if we'd gone all-inclusive. We'd like to go again someday and take the kids; if we do, we'll probably go all-inclusive because of some of the other thigns those resorts offer that are good for kids.
The cruise we took was, of course, all-inclusive, but on the days we spent in-port, we did not go back to the boat for meals.
So camp is available, not required at those times. You roll over vacation each year, so why again are you limited to only one week a year that works for a family vacation?

What is busy about Christmas break
But you can still go outside of a hotel all-inclusive if you want.
Cruises are not all-inclusive for all food and drinks.
eh, I disagree.
We did, that's why we went and made the best of it each and every time.
