I think we need a little fluff :)
1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?
2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?
3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?
Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

Absolutely. There is alot you can do in the 8-10 hours you have to spend on an island. We went on an absolutely wonderful tour in San Juan with a local taxi driver. He was cheap and showed us all the historic areas that were of interest to most people who visit the island. We went to the beaches on the other islands, the shops, the local flea market. In Bermuda we had 2 1/2 days, not just a few hours.
I have been to other islands and places for week vacations also, not just "day" trips.

Yes, but it you use that definition for all-inclusive, then there is never any such thing. There are always other options, lol.

How do you know if you like something if you don't try it?
I don't think it is alot of money though. Vacations and traveling are experiences, something you can never take away from someone.

In a resort you would have to go off the resort to someplace else not included in the meal plan though.

Yes. Way to state the obvious there.
I disagree. You know nothing about the culture or history there (but they really don't want you to).
I sailed the Caribbean for several months and lived there for a year.
Extreme poverty vs tourism that provide subsistence living for many.
Tell us about San Juan and the political climate and economy there now?
Tell us about Haiti...I believe you said you were there.
You saw what they wanted you to see, to make you spend your tourist dollars.
I agree, much is beautiful but much is not.

One of the things that I've appreciated about The Amazing Race is that they do many of their challenges in the "real" heart of a country. They don't stay in commercialized or touristy places. They get into the "down and dirty" parts of their locations.
That said, I don't know if I'd want to be on the show because you're rushed through silly challenges in your 12-24 hours in each location. If I'm going to Ghana or Liberia or wherever, I'd want to spend more time truly exploring.
