I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

I had missed that list, but have to say that virtually all of those are things I would want to avoid on most days, lol, and have nothing to do with what I associate with traveling.

If I ever get to the point where I have unlimited vacation time and money then I may spend that time and money on "things DH and I don't think we will like". Until that time I will spend that time and money on thing DH and I do think we will like,

Until then I will save the "Not sure if I will like it" experiences to things that do not take up so much time and money.

I assume the reason that you went to Disney was because the other members of your family wanted to go. It had absolutely nothing to do with you trying something that you thought you would not like. If absolutely no one in your family had a desire to go to Disney would you have been there?

Do you really plan family vacations to places no one in the family is interested in?

Where have you visited outside of the Caribbean and the US?

We went on a vacation a few weeks ago to the beach with the kids. It was really fun, but definitely not a relaxing trip with a 4 year old and 1 year old.

LOL, I can imagine. I decided long ago that one does these things for the amusement and education of the children, not for one's own enjoyment. It makes it more bearable, to me anyway, when I have no expectation of having a nice time. That way, even a few hours of relaxation of perhaps even fun seem like a major bonus.

I agree. One of the best things I got out of my cruise was that 1) I don't really want to visit Nassau again. I was very underhwelmed. and 2) I really really want to go back to Key West and spend about a week.

Because I wanted to try it. I wanted to be able to do nothing for 3-5 days if i wanted and have pool, drink, food and entertainment at my fingertips without putting forth any effort for it.

Me too. But if I'm paying thousands to go on a cruise, I'm expecting something that I can't get or make at home.

If you don't base your vacation on things you think you're going to enjoy, then what in the world would one base a vacation on? Isn't that sort of the point? To go somewhere and do things that you will enjoy?
