I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

I am theexact opposite. When we are choosing a destination I like to read up on what is there, what sounds like fun, what restaurants people eat at, etc. We went down to Orlando two years ago, but the kid, who was 13 at the time had zero interest in Disney. The whole reason he wanted to go to Florida was to see the Kennedy Space Center and the Astronaut Hall of Fame. I found out about Discery Cov only through reaearch and we decided it sounded like fun. It turned out to be one of the coolest things DS and I have evr done together, we still talk aabout it today.

So you went there because you thought your kids would like it. BTDT.

That has nothing to do with being adventurous or open minded.

One of the perks of being an empty nester is no longer having to plan vacations on what the kids might like.

I am counting on that ;).

Compromise is about everyone giving everyone something that they want when it's not possible to give everyone everything that they want. Very different from settling for something that you don't want.

Most people I know are perfectly happy with compromise. It's a lovely thing.

I think we are being all of us a bit hard on each others vacation choices here - I mean I could care less where any of you vacatoin and I'm sure you feel the same about me.

I'm not a very adventurous traveller but you know ...that's fine. others are and that's fine too. do'nt want to try a cruise? don't try one - don't want to go to Disney? don't go. I get in to this same conversation on the DIS boards b/c I now preferr staying off site -- I fail to see how liking that is some great insult to those that like to stay onsite - I mean really - who cares? don't want to hike around Iceland? don't. I really don't see how any of our vacation choices impact any one except you know.. ourselves.

How could you possibly have gotten that from her statement? She was talking about herself. Period.

i like an element of surprise when we go places, we pick one attraction or tease but the rest is up to chance, spontaneity is good, IMO..blushing, i had no idea orlando had a sea world and DD begged to go, we didn't go because we've been to the one in san antonio before..and the space center

Does this "don't question another's choice on how to spend vacation" extend to little girls at Disney who like to dress in princess costumes, or are they still fair game for snark, eye-rolling, and ridicule?
