I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

We started eating most of our meals in on vacation for health reasons but found out another perk. Not wasting time driving to and waiting for food at restaurants. It some ways it would makes me wish that we would have started taking eating in long ago. But on the other hand it is lot easier logistically eating in for two people than it would have been for five. So when all 5 of us were traveling the hassle of eating in may have outweighed the hassle of restaurant eating.

I will admit that finances are one factor for us eating in while on vacation.

You can mix up the meal plan anyway you want. The basic one gives you one quick serve meal and one table serve meal per day. You can choose, breakfast, lunch or dinner for any of these. The 3rd meal you will have to pay for. We usually pay for breakfast as it is the cheapest, quick serve for lunch and table serve for dinner, which is usually the most expensive so we save the most money and we like to sit for dinner.

I know that they will do their best on cruises to accomodate your food issues.

I also don't want to cook on my vacation-lol!! It wouldn't be considered a vacation if I did the same things I did at home-lol!! Even when I visit my mom, we eat out or bring something in and rarely make meals except for breakfast.

lol!! I wouldn't consider it a vacation if I didn't eat things that were bad for me-lol!! I am on vacation from my "normal" life, eating more and worse things, not doing laundry, not doing housework, not cooking, not working, etc.

We feel the same way; I do not understand the "it wouldn't be a vacation if I had to cook or do laundry" mentality. I take a vacation to see and do new things,, meet new people, experience a new locality, etc. One of the last vacations we were on as a family was a month in Normandy. We got to know the local shopkeepers quite well as we shopped. Every day for bread and three or four times a week for meat, cheese, and produce. We were seeing new things every single day, waking up to farm sounds, seeing cows out our window, etc. It would have been too expensive to eat out at good restaurants every day and we find no pleasure at eating out in mediocre ones when there is good fresh delicious local food to be had for a fraction of the cost.

I also find that it gets tedious and irksome to eat out 3X a day, especially when you have kids along. Yes, it is cheaper to have your own kitchen, but it is also really nice to be able to fix something quick when some kid is hungry, or be able to fix yourself a nice salad and a glass of wine after the kids have gone to bed.

I take a vacation as an escape from the usual day-to-day obligations. If I were to cook on a vacation, it would be for financial reasons, not because I find it more relaxing.
