I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

We first starting eating in when we travel because of healths issues but found one of the other perks is the time saved in not deciding on and traveling to a restaurant and not having to wait on food. Gives us a lot more down time.

I find eating out is our down time. We get to relax and talk about the day. Most vacations I have gone on there is not much travel time to a restaurant though.

Yes, same here. It may also be because we eat out a lot anyway, 3-4 times a week usually. Besides, if I am on vacation, I have to have something to do, might as well be cooking.

Much of the time we spend in hotels is not on vacation which is why I purposely used the words "when traveling" not when on vacation.

At this point a lot of it is to visit DH's mother because of her health issues. I find it much easier to relax in the hotel room, in my night gown with access to access to computer/TV/reading material than I do in a restaurant.

Oh, ok. I thought you were speaking of when you went on vacation. These are trips to see family who need your help.

take a vacation as an escape from the usual day-to-day obligations. If I were to ook on a vacation, it would be for financial reasons, not because I find it more relaxing.

There is absolutely nothing relaxing about taking little kids out to dinner when they are tired and cranky, lol.

When DH was active duty and we could not afford to eat out much it was a real treat, at some points a yearly event. When he retired and we could afford it more it became much more common, pretty much a weekly event. After awhile it lost its appeal.

Where 10-12 years ago eating out was something I looked forward to now more often it is the opposite something I would rather not do.

That being said I am eating out tonight. A few months ago DH and I discovered a restaurant that he loves. A few weeks ago we took DD1 and DD2 there. Tonight DD3 is coming to town to visit so we are taking her there and to a movie.
