I think we need a little fluff :)

1. Have you/Will you decorate(d) for the fall?

2. Have you started any Holiday shopping yet?

3. What is one food (or drink) that you look forward to when the weather gets cooler?

Bonus (it was a discussion at work yesterday and wondered others opinions):
4. If you were able to have an inheritance for your children (or maybe you have already experienced this with your own family), and you were able to live comfortably and was not relying on that money to survive, would you rather spend the money while you are alive and watch your children enjoy the money now or would you rather have it given to them when you died?

"When traveling" encompasses all time spent in hotels whether that be for vacation or other reasons. We do not eat differently when traveling based on the reason for that travel but we do sometimes eat differently because of the logistics of that travel.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. We have one place that we really like, it is simple, low-key, the people there know us and know what we like. It is very relaxing if we just want a bite and it is late or whatever.

We also had a couple of years where we ate out constantly because of a business project we worked on. It got to the point that having a quiet meal at home became a treat and dd would beg to please eat at home.

Yes, I found that to be true as well. When the kids were smaller after we had packed in a whole day of sightseeing, museum going, etc, they were often pretty wound up by suppertime, so my husband would often take them down to the hotel pool while I fixed something simple to eat. Afterwards they would get to watch. TV which was very fun for them because we didn't have TV when they were little.

That's one of the few reasons we even went to Disney, however, we went to Disneyland. BIL works for a large construction company in L.A. and one of his projects was the Nemo ride at Disneyland. Our whole family was able to get in free. I really have no desire to do Disney World but felt like my kids could get a bit of the Disney experience while they were young by going to DL instead. We also went to California Adventure as part of the park hopper pass. DW is too overwhelming for me but we really enjoyed our trip to DL, mainly b/c it was a relatively small part of a much longer vacation, it wasn't "the" vacation.

I don't like eating all of my meals out when on vacation. My kids are not the most adventurous eaters so eating out can be tiresome trying to find things that they will eat that are not unhealthy. Not to mention that most kids' meals are the same old thing - chicken fingers, burgers, spaghetti and fries fries and fries! I usually order a vegetable from the side dishes menu, but they charge you a ridiculous amount of money, like $3, for a bowl with a couple of pieces of broccoli. Sometimes it makes sense to get adult meals and have them split it, but they all have their own desires so finding something that they will agree on can be a nightmare.

I like to cook so I don't have a problem with cooking on vacation. It can actually be a relief rather than trying to find a restaurant that doesn't have a huge line. Plus, when we are on vacation, we usually eat dinner rather late so my kids are often tired and spent. Much easier to let them relax in the living room playing a board game than sitting in a restaurant either waiting for a table or waiting for a meal to arrive. Depending on the length of our vacation, I prefer to only eat 1-2 meals out.
