1. Do you have any tattoos?

2. What was the last thing you bought?

3. Would you rather be behind the camera or in front of it?

4. Window or Aisle seat?

5. Have you ever had a poem or song written about you?

We have a very functional and plain dining room table too. It is made from a cheap kind of teak. Like yours, ours doubles as a desk, sewing table, homework table etc, so it rarely has any flowers or other doo-dads on it. We still use place mats at meal times though, mainly out of habit, I guess, but it does also prevent heat rings and excessive scratching.

This past summer I have been to a Marriott, a couple of Holiday Inns Express, Ramada and a couple of other ones...all of them had the multiple pillow thing and the fake throw at the bottom.

Me, too. I'm not worried about our table, which still looks fine (and frankly, I would love any excuse to get a new one;)).

I always use hot pads under hot dishes placed at the table. They biggest *issue* I think that we've had was that one of the kids left a glass of ice water on the table one time, and the condensation caused a ring on the table. I caught it early enough though, that once it dried out, it cleared up.

I am guessing you mean a remake of the show, because the original had a sort of 50s style to it?

Growing up, I never came across designations like that for decorating styles. Most people I knew, my parents and grandparents included, had a mix of antique and contemporary furniture. My grandma's style was more formal than my parent's style, but the elements were not so different really. We did learn how to classify furniture by style as in Chippendale, Empire or Louis Seize etc., but those were designations used for the actual period furniture, not imitation stuff, and I never knew anyone to do up a whole house in original Louis Seize or original Chippendale or whatever.

Yes, it can...but hey, my thought is whatever floats your boat, lol.

In the last year I've visited Ramada, Embassy Suits, The Hilton, and two different resorts.

My experience has been the same, multiple pillows, fake throw...basic "done up" clutter, lol.

The point is that the more time you work during the day, the less you are making "per hour" and the more your company is saving on paying someone else or paying you OT.

I don't look at my salary in terms of "per hour"; I don't judge my worth that way. Sure, they're saving money by not paying me OT. Is that your point?

My "per hour" wage may diminish, but my value as an employee, my value as a person, my value to my profession, and my value to myself all increase.

I don't think everyone thinks in the term of value in that way, it's a shame really.
