1. If you own a home, do you have your homeowners taxes in your mortgage or do you pay separately?

2. Do you do anything for St. Patrick's Day?

3. What is one of your guilty pleasure TV shows?

"isn't current banking such that, collapse of any significantly sized bank likely to trigger the collapse of most, if not all, of the banking industry?" ------ That would be my thinking, but maybe Jams knows more about this, having worked in banks and stuff. If she has further info, it would be great to know.

isn't current banking such that, collapse of any significantly sized bank likely to trigger the collapse of most, if not all, of the banking industry?  Isn't that the entire point behind "Too big to fail"?  Isn't that why the federal government was forced to offer bailouts to the banks and banking executives who brought the US economy to its knees?  Because failing to do so would have caused catastrophic  collapse of most every bank in the US.

Hence, a practice of spreading one's money among several banks, wouldn't safeguard anything.  A bank collapse, if permitted to occur, would likely cause runs on all the other banks, too.

Belittle whose experiences?  I've lived in small towns, I've also lived in large towns/cities.  Calling a population of 100,000 small is an insult?  Put your big girl panties on bord...

.   I would say that the person with limited experience is you.  You base everything on your own limited experience rather than a body of evidence.  You are like the blind man you grabs hold of the elephant's tail, then jnsists that elephants are shaped like ropes.

. So you are questioning my investment savvy because I am not making money decisions based on conditions that were current a century ago?  Before FDIC, it made sense not to keep all your money in one bank.  Now, it does not.  And you haven't provided one single, coherent reason why it would.  You do stuff that makes no sensr, and insult people who do what makes sense.  Saints preserve us!

A population of 100,000 is small.  My opinion comes from experiences in larger metropolitan cities than you.  Connecticut is full of small towns too.
