1.  Does it feel like fall yet where you are, or is it still summer?

2.  Those of you with kids in school, how's the year shaping up so far?

3.  What are you looking forward to this fall?

4.   Read any good books lately?

1.  Does it feel like fall yet where you are, or is it still summer?

Still summer, for at least another 6 weeks.

2.  Those of you with kids in school, how's the year shaping up so far?

DD just started kindergarten, and so far she loves it, except for the long walk from the front door to her class. Big brother has been walking her down but it makes him late for his own class. Trying to work out a solution with the teacher/principal but neither one is very sympathetic. :( Other than that they are doing great so far. And we're already in the middle of the first fundraiser and the first Scholastic book order of the year. @@

3.  What are you looking forward to this fall?

We are moving into a big house next month. I'm looking forward to having more room. Not so much looking forward to the "moving" part.

4.   Read any good books lately?

I wish I had time to read books, but lately there is barely enough time to get to the newspaper.

Does it feel like fall yet where you are, or is it still summer? Still warm and 80s here although we're supposed to cool off quite a bit soon

2.  Those of you with kids in school, how's the year shaping up so far? First day of high school for the girl today so  too soon to tell but I just have a feeling it's gonna be a great year.

3.  What are you looking forward to this fall? Our niece's wedding this month and performing my dream role for six shows in October...

4.   Read any good books lately? Right now I"m one with my script for "Wit" but over vacation I read another Call the Midwife Book and some beach reads...

Really? Really?  I assume you'll make it at least a two-day trip and stay with us.  I see EJ's BCF and beer in our future.

And, I think The Girl has made her decision - but we're doing a couple of visits as confirmation.

Yep. After record-breaking heat the last two years, and a record-breaking extreme drought last year -- we've now had the fifth wettest summer on record, and it won't take much more rain to catapult the whole year into the top 3.

1.  Does it feel like fall yet where you are, or is it still summer?  Fall yes it is.  As you can imagine, our fall starts earlier than the rest of you.  We had a great summer, very warm & lots of sun, so I can't complain about the last 3 weeks of solid rain (at least I won't complain too much).

2.  Those of you with kids in school, how's the year shaping up so far?  So far so good.  Dd1 is at a new high school & she loves it.  She joined student government class, Key Club, and really likes her dance class.  She thinks she's being evaluated for the highest level of dance class (in high school) for the dance team.  She has an internship kind of thing at the middle school that she goes to every day after school for high school credit.  She is going to be taking 3 dance classes out of school.  And she's going to be teaching a class once a week too!  She's so excited for that.  She's not the helper, she will be the teacher... Dd2 is not in very many extracurriculars as she still has an injured knee and can't take dance classes that she wanted to.  She is a freshman, so first year at the high school, but not the same school as dd1.  She did join the crew to do the tech stuff for the school play, she's a stage director.  She's doing PT for her extra curriculars unfortunately.

3.  What are you looking forward to this fall?  A really quiet month...

4.   Read any good books lately?  Last night I finished Like Water for Chocolate.  I enjoyed it throughout the whole book, until the ending.  I have a new book to start called The Crown.

I love "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn." One of my all-time favorites.

1.  It's still summer here.  In fact, the last two-three weeks have been the hottest of the year.

2.  DS is so ready to be done with school.  I wish he would just enjoy his senior year more, but he's like me, and can't wait to get out and start his adult life.

3. I don't really know.  DH is going to France for almost a month without me and I am trying not to pout about it.   I don't have any really fun conferences or travel plans.  So maybe it will just be a nice quiet fall.

4.  I'm working my way through some Icelandic sagas but that's kind of for work.  Haven't really read anything worth recommending lately.  That's why I asked....hoping someone had something good to recommend!

Of course, of course!  I think college visits with my youngest are going to be a totally different spin on things and I can't wait to hear what the girl has decided.

I have not read the book, but the movie is one of my all time favorites.  I've seen it several times, in both the dubbed and subtitled versions.  And the subtitled version is by far much better -- you get to hear them speaking in their native spanish and the language is so beautiful that it adds to the beauty of the movie.

I really like Goodreads, you can look at your friends' lists to see what they have liked.  And see how high each book is rated generally by everybody.
