2. If, on your next two week vacation, you had to go back to someplace you have already been, where would it be?

3. Is there any place you would not rturn to, and why?

Yes, I am aware that you show your passport upon departure at all places. I have been out of the country before. Thanks :)

You should have been in Texas when I was there last spring! Not only was it not humid, it was COLD. I was really surprised (and I'm sure that the zillions of spring breakers who were running all about were none too impressed!)by the cool temps in San Antonio, bot nowhere near as surprised as I was on the last morning when I found out that our flight was being delayed due to snow in Dallas!

And then we came home to VA, where it was in the 70s. It was weird.

It's so little that it's easy to forget.

I once knew I had a UTI because I'd had to stop twice in Delaware for potty breaks. Seriously, if you can't make it all the way thru on one break, you have a problem.LOL

And no, not all of my travel stories are urinary in nature. ;~)

May I remind you that North Carolina is where they keep the Wide Shoe Warehouse? And you're going to Iceland. I'm coming too. They need the $$.

That's true. And I have family there. All the same, the place totally skeeves me. Another of those situations where the destination isn't as important as the people. ;~)

Iceland? OK...thanks for letting me know. I'd feel pretty stupid if it got to be vacation time and I didn't know where I was supposed to be going.

1. Where have you been? How many US States? Outside of the USA?
I haven't been to Idaho, Alaska, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming. I think I've been to all the others.

Lived in Edinburgh, Durham, Chester in the UK, and Paris France. Vacationed or worked in Belgium - Brussels, Brudges, Netherlands - Amsterdam, Spain - Barcelona, Portugal and Azores - All over, Germany - Hamburg, Berlin, Czech Republic - Prague, Russia - Moscow, Poland - Warsaw. Austria - Vienna, India - Bangalore Mumbai, Singapore, Australia - Sydney, Figi Is, Japan, China - Beijing, Many Caribbean Is and Bahamas and Bermuda, Canada - Toronto Montreal, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Brazil - Sao Paulo and Rio, Argentina - Buenos Aires. I think that's it.

2. If, on your next two week vacation, you had to go back to someplace you have already been, where would it be?
I think China. I was there for work and did not get a chance to explore much ore than the Great Wall.

3. Is there any place you would not rturn to, and why?
I don't like Vegas, and I have to go for work at least once a year. I will never vacation there again

4. Where in the USA would you like to go next?
Colorado for skiing.

5. Where outside the USA would you like to go next?
I am going to Dusseldorf and Amsterdam in a few weeks on business; our next major family vacation is several weeks in Guatemala.

BTW, for some reason it came up at dinner. It turns out that MIL's condo is in Key West. I just remember this picture of hideous high rises practically ON the beach and each one with a pool (because the sea is too dangerous - sharks). Then she also explained, as I remember it, that you can't go eat or even buy a bottle of milk without driving. The whole thing seemed really scary, but in all fairness, MIL may have been a major factor in that. The idea of being dependent on her for a week and the chance that she might literally throw my kid to the sharks were unattractive.

She must not be right IN Key West then ... as it's very easy to walk around downtown. Most people ride bikes instead of driving.

Now, maybe out in the residential areas it's different.
