1. Do you get automatic raises at your job (or your SO's) or do you have to ask for them?

We get annual raises based on merit which is determined from our annual reviews.  (Similar to Bord).  If the state doesn't have money, we don't get raises though.  We also can be promoted to a different rank based on a schedule.  The first one comes after 3 years, and then I think the next one is 4 years or so after that.  Those promotions come with a 10% raise.  I've also gotten raises based on new job responsibilities.

2. What's the worst injury you have had?

Hmm, my two c-sections, if those count?  Other than that, I gashed my lip open when I was a little kid and accidently sliced myself with a razor when I was 12.

3. What's on the agenda for your weekend?

I didn't do much this weekend, which was fine by me.  I like quiet weekends at home.

Neither

2. What's the worst injury you have had?

I haven't had many actual injuries.  I guess the worst was when I injured my neck and both knees in a car accident about 16 years ago.  That's when I learned that I could stand to sit a bit further back from the steering wheel.  I've had many, many ICU stays but not related to injuries...I guess the worst was the time that my labs were described as "incompatible with life".

3. What's on the agenda for your weekend?

Yesterday, there were 2 funerals that I should have attended but I decided I coudln't do both.  Attended one funeral, grocery shopped, had my nails done, had my brother over for dinner.  Today, we are going to try to get the tree down finally (or we may just leave it and see how long it takes for the cat to eat the whole thing) and find something to get Joel out of the house, since he was here all day yesterday.  Might go see a movie.

No one "needs" to answer any fluff question. If you find it too personal, skip it.

I asked about the injury as it was on my mind as my dd just got injured. No other reason.

1. Do you get automatic raises at your job (or your SO's) or do you have to ask for them? -- The details of my pay, including when/if/how I get raises are not fluff.  They are personal information.  And as I know how upset you become when people ask personal information, I will grant you a big favor and not answer.  I'd hate to see you upset.

2. What's the worst injury you have had? -- Are you serious?  Why on earth would you ever want to know THAT??

3. What's on the agenda for your weekend? --  I'm going to transfer some machine embroidery patterns that I downloaded over the holiday and get started on some burp cloths, receiving blankets and onesies for my STB-DGS.

1. Do you get automatic raises at your job (or your SO's) or do you have to ask for them? No job jobs. We charge what the market can bear.

2. What's the worst injury you have had? Other than the butchering, and subsequent problems, I suffered when they did the C-section for dd's birth, no real injuries, knock wood.

3. What's on the agenda for your weekend? Friends for lunch Sunday.

1. Do you get automatic raises at your job (or your SO's) or do you have to ask for them?-- Neither of those describes the way it works here.  Sometimes there is an university-wide salary program - that can be either a blanket "everyone gets 3%" or can be a "your division can have 3% total increase in salaries", which means managers can give 0% of underperformers and 6% to top achievers, etc.   Sometimes there is no program, but people can still receive (asked for or given) a demonstrated proficiency increase.   I've had both happen for me in the past year.

2. What's the worst injury you have had? -- I've been lucky to not have any major injuries.  Probably the worse was when I was 2 and cut my chin open. Or in college when I cut my elbow open.

3. What's on the agenda for your weekend? -- Usual stuff: Zumba, relax time with the fam, grocery shopping, meal planning, housework etc.  Unusual stuff: The Boy has honor band today and tomorrow, so he has a concert tomorrow afternoon. We'll take him out to dinner as a celebration.  I also have some work to do.  And we need to stock our newly installed storm shelter, and do some cleanup from the installation.

We both have annual reviews, merit raises are based on those.  I broke my wrist a few years back.  Car shopping, driving a kid about for sports, cleaning because all the snow will melt and create mud everywhere, need to get back in the meal planning swing, and the usual stuff like church.

1. Our salary money is given to the university by the state legislature. There are some years when there is no increase, some years when there are actual cuts, and some years where there is money available. When there is money available for raises we all get a cost of living adjustment and then after that if there is money we have performance reviews and the top performers get merit increases. 2. A drunk broke my nose when I worked for the police department, and another angry guy ran me over and I ended up with a broken tailbone. 3. Cleaning, sewing, reading applications and conference papers.

Wowzers, cardiac arrest?!  I'll have to look up that syndrome, That's interesting.  Reminds me of 2008 when DD2 had the flu real bad which led to a seizure and her temp remained 104 - 105 for almost a week, that was pretty scary and I'll never forget that.  I hope your daughter is ok.

Yeah, dh had to give me CPR. It was very scary. Everything fixed though Laughing

DD ok, just a sprain. On crutches though and hates it. Seeing the dr. next week for follow up so hopefully she can walk better by then.
