i've not had the fortune of TWO MILs, one is enough, LOL..i would never use the word, close to describe my MIL.
i agree, if mother in laws only knew the good the women to their sons are, perhaps we feel like a threat to them.
I get along great with my MIL.
Right now I am not very happy with her. My son's bday was this weekend and all he got was a generic "Happy Birthday" on my facebook. My dd got her present a week late for her birthday and there has been no mention of my son getting anything.
My mil finally started liking me after being with my dh 19 years. She used me as a doormat for so many years and then when she realized I don't take that "junk" (for a nicer term) anymore, she actually liked and respected me more. Don't ask. I can't figure out people like that but unfortunately I have been "blessed" with more than one of them in my life. Uggghh-lol!!

My mother in law and I get along really well.
