Not only in terms of WOHM or SAHM....but think back to the high school you and what you wanted from life at what ever age you are now....how close are you?

My 16yo self was pretty self centered. I think that she would like where I am today, even though it's completely different than what she imagined, but then, she had a pretty limited imagination.

I think I'm pretty darn close.

I think my 16 year old self would be speechless at the degree I'm currently pursuing, but other than that, I think she'd be pretty proud of me. :) Funny you asked this today b/c I just noticed some lines on my face for the first time this morning. Planning the 20 year reunion...really not a kid anymore!

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

Close in some ways, far in others. At 16 I had no intention of getting married nor of having kids. I came around to the marriage thing early on, as a good self-management tool. I did want to live in a different country, and I certainly have done that. I have had the chance to study the things that interested me in HS, for which I am grateful. I have "known the minds of many men." Still need to walk fully in the footsteps of Karen Blixen.

"Planning the 20 year reunion...really not a kid anymore!" ------- Friend of mine called to say that he was going to his 60th reunion and had been picked to give the speech, for which he was excited. Then he paused and said, "But you know, this is the last one. They don't organize any more after this one." You have a ways to go. ;)

the 16 year old me would be so happy to know she's still acting, still singing,  still working, to know what parts awaited her... she would be amazed that she's a mom.. and she would be so so happy to know that all those truths she knew about herselfs and feared about herself and was afraid to share.. .were ok after all.. that there was heartache ahead but on the other side was a life more glorious than she had ever imagined.

This is the third one I've planned...but I know I've got many, many more to plan! ;)

My 16 year old self would probably come up with a string of colorful language to express disbelief at the fact that I am married with children and drive a minivan. She'd be probably make devil's horns with her fingers and stick out her tongue knowing that I still manage to hit NIN concerts whenever they pass by on tour. I'm pretty sure she'd laugh at me for owning velour sweat pants, and she'd probably be embarrassed knowing that I still wear black chucks.

I think 16 year old me would be happy to know that I never gave up on my dream to go to college to study what I wanted to, rather than just what our parents were willing to pay for.

I think 16 year old me would really like my kids and I'd like to think she'd approve of my husband, even though he was never a drummer in a rock band.
