My dad has been thinking about getting some chickens. Both of my parents grew up on farms, so they kind of know how it works. I've thought about it, but we have a pretty small yard, so we'd have to buy most of their food. That kind of makes it not so worth it for me.

I would love to have local dairy delivered, but the crazy agriculture laws in this state make it pretty much impossible. I've looked in PA, but there is nothing close there either. I think the CSA we belong to is going to have a cheese share next year though. There's a really great goat cheese producer locally, but I'm not really a fan of goat cheese. They have also offered cow's milk cheese from a local Amish farm. I'm really hoping that I can choose just to get those varieties.

We seem to be able to work around the kids' pickiness right now, but we'll see how it goes as they get older . . .

You're welcome! I'm thinking it would be really good to take to my mom's house for Thanksgiving.

I have a very hard time with tomato-based sauce on spaghetti squash.

Well, I actually WAS. it gives me a good Italian hit, without the pasta carb overload (my glucose does NOT handle pasta well). Now, if there were a squash that could pretend to be bread ;)

We have both Costco and Sam's, as well as BJ's, but Costco's stores are so nasty.

Kids shouldn't be eating a bunch of empty calories and carbs either...

My friend's yard is very small too.

Kids should be eating a variety of things, just like adults. Adults need to watch more of what they are eating, especially after certain ages for many reasons.

I looked into that dairy, but they didn't deliver in this direction. I'm about 3 hours from Frederick. We do get some farmers from Maryland at our farmers' market and offering CSA delivery, but they are usually located near Oakland, MD. I haven't found a dairy there, that delivers to Morgantown.
