DD, DH and I are having:

-- Shrimp scamp rolled in italian bread crumbs, skewered, and charbroiled

-- Chicken spiedini rolled in italian bread crumbs, skewered, charbroiled and served with a spicay tomato sauce

-- Secco NV Vento, Italia

-- Wedge salad served witih diced tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, prosciutto, hardboiled egg, and a creamy parmesan dressing - served with 2010 Riff Pinto Grigio Delle Venezie IGT, Italia

-- Italian potato dumplings served in a vodka cream sauce - served with

Heh, speaking of food ... I bought garden cress and swiss chard at the Farmer's Market today. I think I'll do a chicken, sausage and cannelini bean stew with the chard, and maybe a good parmesan risotto with wilted cress. Then we bought jalepeno cilantro hummus and olive hummus at our local mediterranean place yesterday, so I'll probably buy some fresh pitas and have souvlaki one night.

We have many quality Italian restaurants in our area, and a 1 st class culinary institute in our area. This type of program would sell out here...big name chefs and a supportive community.
