For the past week it's been whatever my son has wanted to make...which has worked out very nicely for me.
So far he's made chicken fajitas, lasagna, homemade pizza, and ham/spinach quiche. I gave him a break and ordered pizza for him last night, since I was too tired to eat. He's talking about scalloped potatoes tonight.
I got sucked into it last night. DH finally said we could give the middle girl a birthday party, we don't have family around at all and she's never had a party and has been begging for one for 2 years. This isn't the ideal year with a HS graduation on the horizon, but oh well. I was looking up princess party stuff and OMG I was on it for dang near 2 hours! So many awesome things on there! I don't think DH realizes its actually a ton more work and money to have it at home than to just pay to have it at a place and they do all the clean up and set up, but oh well, I'm excited to plan it!!
Ok, Thanks. Sure beats reading somebody's menu and finding out they just open a can or box or nuke some frozoen garbage if you KWIM. And speaking of pinterest, I was at school yesterday and thought of this thread, We were on break and a teacher was on her pinteret site, She had all kinds of things there, She gave me a brief tutorial too and it was pretty cool but one more thing to get addicted to too I'm sure, Lol.
This format is really strange, Just sayin'
I hear pinterest being a non-stopping shopping site, Lol. I see clips all over fb, it really gives you a glimpse of others' likes and styles. But you have to set up an account to look up recipes and things, right? And what's with the follower feature?
Sun: smoking a whole chicken on the grill, baked beans, strawberries
Mon: out - to our fave local pizza place
Tues: Red Beans and rice, smoked turkey sausage, veggie
Wed: Curried chicken soup, garlic bread
Thurs: jerk chicken thighs with sweet potatoes
Fri: pasta with creamy walnut sauce, broccoli
Sat: patty melts with caramelized onions, tater tots
This was/is the plan as of Sunday. But, I've been working 9-10 hours days this week, so I may need to adjust to accomodate my work schedule.
Ugh, pinterest is so addicting at times. I have found it so helpful also for recipes since I have been working on going gluten free in the house, its like a non-stop shopping place for everything! I go in spurts, I won't touch it for weeks and then get on to find something and spend and entire week on it in all of my spare time.
