I don't think it's an unreasonable expectation of a pastor to expect him to be educated in the primary topic matter.

There is a difference from a pastor to a doctor-lol!!

I think someone like himself had a lot of experience as he took over from his father. It wasn't like he just walked into church one day and didn't know anything at all. While he was "behind the scenes" all those years, he still gained experience.

I don't think most Muslims would be comfortable in an RCC. The iconography in a typical RCC would probably be very disconcerting for those who take the Second Commandment seriously (first Commandment in some traditions).
