So, work has been reletively quiet this week, as I'm holed up working on budget stuff.

With the exception of my out-of-town-overnight trip tonight, this week is - family-wise - fairly unbusy. Both kids had Scouts Monday and dd had guard sectionals yesterday, but that's it. Neither kid has anything activity/school related this weekend!

So, dd has invited a bunch of friends (boys too! ACK!) over for Random Movie Night on Sat. I'm making stuff for tacos; she's making brownies. I think they've decided to watch Alien vs. Predator.

Friday night - no ballgame, no contest on Sat - will be very nice and quiet. We have plans to play some Bananagrams and Pictureka, then maybe watch the original (and only!) Footloose!.

Oh that is frustrating.

This is the first time I've been in the office since last September. After feeling like I was never going to leave Texas, I got to do six loads of laundry on Monday and Tuesday, do 4 homework assignments for the math class I'm taking, plus a quiz and the second exam for the class. Today at work, I have commitments/meetings/etc. all day long. I just want to go home and nap.

My wild Wednesday will be tame by comparison; I just put a deposit down on that Kia Sorento I've been thinking about :)

Tues/Thurs are my busy days. I pick up my younger three at school but dd12 has an after school activity, so she stays. I have to return an hour later to pick her up, we go home for about 20 minutes, then I drop her off at soccer, and then take my youngest to field hockey. Her practice requires an adult to stay, so I hang out there. My boys usually go with me but sometimes they go to dd12's soccer practice (dh is her coach so they sometimes practice with her team). Thankfully dh brings dd12 home and dd6 is done earlier so I get home first and get dinner going. The logistics aren't too bad but running here to there with little time in between can be a pain, esp if someone has a lot of homework or tests to study for. We eat immediately but then it's a rush to shower, finish up any homework and get in nightly reading. It will be so much easier when fall sports are over. The basketball schedule is usually easier, plus dd12's afterschool activity will be over by then.

Weekends are no better. We have four games every Saturday all over the county and usually overlapping. I have yet to see any of ds10's games b/c they always conflict with someone else. Dh has to go to his games b/c he is the coach!

Jealous of those of you with public transport. We actually have a decent bus system for our small town/city but unfortunately we live two miles down a peninsula that is not served by bus. There are no shoulders or sidewalks so walking or biking is dangerous for kids. :(
