There are a *lot* of things I use every day that I am grateful for and enjoy, but I certainly do not believe them to be "needs." They are "wants," nice luxuries that make live a bit more pleasurable and enjoyable, but they are not "needs."

Nobody advised her to give up anything. It was just said that it's not exactly honest to say "I can't save because of daycare" when going on about non necessities that she buys. The truth is she doesn't WANT to save more, that's all.
