But what if you were not lucky enough to have people stop or was in an area that no one was around? To me it is a small price to pay for comfort, especially driving with children and at night.

I've had two instances of car breakdown in my life. One was in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Guess what? No service. Tho' I did have fun playing Bejeweled on my cell phone while waiting for help to arrive after some nice person volunteered to drive to the nearest landline and call AAA for me.

The second time was when I got a flat in rural Missouri. I know how to change my own tires, and did, but since it was about a 102 in the shade in the middle of July, I would have preferred to summon the nice man with the tow truck.

So because your kid is used to having one & expects to always have one & would bug you if she didn't have one, it becomes a "need."? No it doesn't. It doesn't for any kids. Needs are things you have to have to live as in food, water, shelter, medical care, clothes. No kid needs a tv as no adult needs a tv. My kids would be extremely upset if we took our tvs and cable out of the house. But they would certainly be fine, (besides being cranky). They would flourish & probably the result would be more reading, crafting and fresh air. OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROFL, they day that either of my kids tell me that a tv is a requirement and/or necessary in their life, would be the last time they view a tv in my home for the rest of their juvenile life! That covers 1. 2. again tv is not necessary for them. 3. urgent want . . . again they can urgently want a lot of things that doesn't meean they will get them. 4. Necessity arising from the circumstances . . . um, no. There is no circumstance that means any kid NEEDS a tv. (example, but mom I will just die if I don't watch dancing with the stars tonight--no dear you won't) 5. a situation or time of difficulty, again they may really really want a tv, an ipod, a swimming pool, a horsey and a billion other things, that makes no diffucult if they do not have them. 6. I'm reallly not going to waste my time with the rest of your minor definitions. They deal with necesseties and tv is not a necessity.

You will be. My kids found out that the guy who does yards around here makes about 100 a yard (large yards, lotsa trees). Life hasn't been the same since.

OK, you have a weird definition of "need," and, yes, I saw your dictionary paste job.

I just looked up on salary.com for a dog groomer by me and the average is $32,000/year which would be $15/hr.
