It's different at different stores. At my mom's store, if you spend over $100/month or so, you get 5 cents off every gallon you buy that month. At my store, for every $50(?) you spend, you get 10 cents off per gallon. My store's discount accumulates, so if I spend $400 this month and gas costs $3.00/gallon, when I fill up, I'll only pay $2.20/gallon.

I'm not sure why you are telling me all that. You don't do things that some people do, so you can't cut them out. If you are trying to save more and spend less, you don't cut from categories that don't exist, you cut from categories that do exist. In my case, if I were trying to save more, I would cut lawn service and travel. In your case, I suppose you would cut som discretionary spending such as clothing, furniture, and cable/internet. It strikes me that neither of us is really trying very hard to raise our level of savings at this point, so the question is kind of moot, isn't it?

Even if you don't have a long drive to work, there is no reason why a person can not complain that they have to pay $3.15/gallon for gas. I only drive 3 1/2 miles to work but everytime the gas prices go up, the amount of money I have in my pocket for the week goes down. There really is no "choice" about spending the money. You have to go to work so you have to have gas.

Interesting. We don't have any options like that by us so that is why we all complain about the price of gas.

Just showing you that there is really not much to cut out of our budget since we don't do the things that are normally told to people to cut out. I can show you my entire budget if you would like so you can see there is not much extras in it.
