No, we have no gas pumps at any grocery stores here. We have reward programs but nothing for gas. It is ridiculous that the price of our gas is much higher than NJ's. My dh will drive his work truck into NJ and pay much less than we do here on LI.

I think you meant to here: "I am not considering cable a luxury. It is something that has always been part of my budget, like food and not something I would not ever give up."

But I see there is an extra "not" in the sentence. I read it to mean that "cable is something that has always been a part of my budget like food & not something I would ever give up."

You also expressed an unwillingness to give up Christmas and you mentioned food in there with cable so I included those. You have also expressed that having new furniture and an occasional vacation cruise is more important than adding additionally to your savings.

The reason for the bunk bed was for the future when his friends sleep over. My sister did it and did not understand why until I realized that when my dd has friends over they either sleep on the floor or with each other and they never get a good nights rest.

The cruise money was not technically our money. I have explained that before. I could have spent more on my kitchen with it but did not.

YOU think we can't afford these things because we don't have 6 months of savings. In 2 months I will be saving again, like I did this past spring and building up our savings faster than just the interest. Most people would think if they were saving something, then they COULD afford it.

P.S., not to rock the boat but we did buy the entire bedroom set for him, not just the bed so we could get the financing but we will be selling his old furniture, toddler bed and baby items to help pay for it.

<<And I'm sure there are no other good paying jobs available closer to home, no housing available closer to where they work, no public transportation available, and no smaller vehicle would possibly do. . >>
