No, not really. My company is an excellent company, not in any way to close down anytime soon. They have actually increased themselves soooo much since I have been there for almost 13 years. I am not relying on my money that I have with the company but if I do get layed off for downsizing (which I doubt highly as we are extremely busy and not stopping anytime soon), I am vested and would get enough money for a year's worth of salary.

Do you work? Do you go travel more than a few miles? Do you go to stores and other places during the week? It is not uncommon for people to spend $100/week on gas. I live close to work and don't drive too much on the weekend (we take my dh's car) so my gas is only about $20-30/week and I only get a half tank.

Are you serious? Do you think everyone could work in their own town? I have never worked in my own town (except for a small part time job in h.s.) and probably never will. I only work a town away but my dh works 40 minutes away as his company closed down and he was asked to work for the competitor for more money.

<< I have learned the only people who have ever said to cut cable out (not just here) were people who do NOT watch TV at all or limited. >>

that is total crap. I was one of the first ones to use cable as an example of a possible place to cut spending to save more. and I am a HUGE TV addict.

If we moved to be closer to my dh's job, we wouldn't be able to afford the homes and then I would be too far so I would have to spend the money in gas. It really makes no sense. Unless you commute, you really do not understand.

You would give up a high paying career to work for minimum wage at an antique shop?
