That is not an easy solution and is very high risk.

Or I might choose a career where I would be able to telecommute.

Do you live in a place so rural that phone and internet are unavailable? I'm pretty sure that satellite internet service is available pretty much anywhere. Although it is expensive.

Not in Northern NH -- there's a HUGE privately funded partnership underway to try to bring high speed access to the most northern communities of the state -- north of the notches it's dial up or nothing.

Really? I'm pretty sure satellite internet is possible in even the most remote places . . . It's expensive though.

well I find it funny that someone would choose the huge expense of satelite internet versus a resonable commute to a good paying job with benefits in a different community. ....

It's expensive, but nowhere near $400/month.

This one for example costs (without discounts) $300 for the equipment, $180 for installation, and $80/month. Just in the first year, it would be a savings of over $3000.

I"m sorry but it would have to be the rosetta stone of telecommuting jobs to get me to invest in something like that when I could you know...drive 15 or so miles to an actual job in a nice place with actual people around me all day LOL
