I guess if I say I will cancel cable everyone will be thrilled. Nothing else matters I guess. If we weren't trying, we wouldn't have cut out things in our budget for the last couple of years.

But it's not about whether or not you actually have cable.

But the only thing everyone is saying is to eliminate the cable. WHY does that have to go? It is only told by people who do not watch tv or have cable so they think it can just be cut out. I can also tell a smoker that they can cut out cigarettes because they are wasting their money on it. Or I can say to a very religious person to stop giving a tith to their church. Maybe those things mean something to them and they won't cut it out. It is the same way. No one can find anything else because we HAVE cut out alot of things to save.

Bullcrap. Total bullcrap. I listed a litany of possibilities very early on in this thread. We've talked about coffee habits, phones, magazines and all sorts of other things.

It's just an example, as are all the other things that have been mentioned.

Did you miss this post?

I also think there are posts where Puss has talked about having a TV in almost every room of her house . . .

I do not spend money on any other of the things that you or anyone else has mentioned to save money.

I have to tell you that I went to Florida with $100 this past weekend and came home with $100. We are saving change for our cruise (which we are NOT paying for at all!!!) and I NEVER have any because I don't spend money everyday.

So basically if I cut out my cable (because there is nothing else), I can save $8/month. Hmmm...not really worth it for me as that would take over 200 years to save just that for 6 months salary-lololol!!!!!!!!

I understand that but it is usually suggested by people who have no interest in TV (NOT EVERYONE).
