You can't say it will be the first thing to "go" if it's not in your budget.

I don't think it's "sad." If people want to give them tips, or something extra at the holidays, it is nice of them, but it is not "sad" if they do not get these things. They are getting paid the amount they contracted for.

I have NEVER said once that cable or any tv was a need.

I just explained what "cable" has always meant in my area (we had NO choices until recently on our provider) in another post.

I was not talking about MY budget. It was aimed towards the person who smokes.

Don't mean to change the subject but there are many, many people who don't even budget their money. I have a gf that did not understand what I meant when I said that we put money away each week for clothes. She has always had a hard time finding extra money for clothes. This is not uncommon. I have heard many of times over the years people saying "I don't know where I am going to get the money for our car insurance". People have NO clue what they spend and do not have separate "envelopes" for each area. I don't use the envelope system as cash in an envelope but everything is broken down in our checking account and each area has an alloted amount that we have put in it per week.

No, just like anyone else in the business of serving people, everyone deserves a tip (if of course their service is good).

When we say "you can save MORE" We don't mean "You can save more than we can"; we mean 'You can save more than you currently do".
