Actually you said he used to sell things on ebay, so you have been paying for it for however long he hasn't been doing it, because you enjoy having it.

I wish I had a bill to show you. I had to pay extra for long distance, while now it is included and that saves me money also. 14 years ago we were paying $30/month for NO extras and just years later, with the long distance, my parents had moved but only spoke to once or twice a week, it went up to $60.

Not sure about you but the majority of our bills go up every single year.

But I never said it was a need. It IS something I will always have UNLESS something else, like food or utilities could not be paid.

No, he has been doing it but slowed down for awhile. He hasn't been making the money he was months ago as it takes up alot of time and we have been extremely busy the last couple of months. He has other outlets to make the money so making less on ebay has not been a problem.

And Sehorse made this staement in post #288.

She's made just as many choices as anyone who wants to save but can't save much because they consider the basics of our modern age - phone, cable and internet - to be necessities.

Let me know as we haven't had it for years so I have no clue what it is up to now. I know one of the girls I work with was paying more than that before she bundled her services.

"I am not considering cable a luxury. It is something that has always been part of my budget, like food and not something I would not ever give up. I really don't think I have expensive tastes. I don't shop in high end stores. I buy sales all the time. Pride myself on how much I can get for a dollar!
It is basically me saying to you that you can give up such and such (something you like and would never think of getting rid of it at all, ever) that I find unnecessary and a waste of money.
Daycare DOES prevent us from saving for 6 months and I will never deny that. There is nothing in my budget that I would cut out for those 6 months and just continue to make interest on my savings during that time. This was our last year so we won't have that problem starting next September.
"

You called cable a need right here when you said it was the same as food and you would NEVER give it up.
