That cracked me up. Especially liked the pic with the pissed off lady in the sombrero. To be fair though, some of the other parents at dd's school were truly OK and I am still friends with a couple. Not BFFs, but friends all the same. I think it is more the set-up at those parties that is just not pleasant in any way, shape or form. Besides it is full of kids ;)

ROFL, DD2 and I are cracking up over this! I esp like the judgemental mom rolling her eyes...

I howled at the pic that went to the caption where one of the parents cut up a 9 year old's piece of pizza into tiny bite sizes :D

I have actually used the line about associating with people that the only thing you have in common is you dropped a kid the same year.

Funny story on that.  About a year after we moved in neighbors moved in across the street.  I always considered us friendly neighbors (pick up  newspapers, feed pets, step in on an  emergency) but never consider ourselves friends.  In part because of the kid issue.  she parented quite a bit differently than I did.  Now that our kids are all grown it is not longer an issue and we have actually spent time together on a social basis.

Same here, some parents are great.  But we've been to some awful parties and it wasn't the entertainment that was a problem.

With two kids and lots or birthdays under my proverbial belt, I've seen all sorts of parents come and go. Usually we can find things to chat about, and more often than not I find reasons to not get our kids together next weekend! LOL
