ANYWHERE -- with enough notice...and if we could do it in the summer that would be a bonus (then i don't need time off of work, easier scheduling, etc.)...

let me know when and where to show up -- and i'll be there if it's at all possible.

Yesterday, I was talking to a co-worker about a friend of hers who has messed her life up with drugs. She was telling us how she is married with a kid and because of the drugs, her H has kicked her out of the house. So in the context of telling me about her bad choices, my co-worker says, "And she's addicted to the Internet! She talks to these people on line and has actually met some of them. She will say, 'I'm going to Maine' and go meet these people!"

Another co-worker says, "Maybe that's how she got hooked up with the drugs."

So I'm partly embarrassed, partly LOL! I've met people from PS (not this board, from the support board I used to frequent.) I'd gladly meet most of you guys. And then there is Newman and Milli...

I just had to share, especially in light of discussing a get together!!! LOL!!

So do your friends think you're nuts? I know my sister does. I'll bring up a topic we discussed here at some gathering and she will say, "Did you get that off your "board"?" And then blow me off.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

Yes...my friends/family think I'm a little nuts w/the board thing. They also think I need to make some IRL friends. ;) I just joined a regional board at PP and have started meeting the ladies over there, it's kind of funny, b/c even though I've met several of them IRL, I still feel like I 'know' most of the regulars over here 'better', just b/c I've been posting over here so much longer.

My best friend meets most of her dates online (match and eharmony), so she gets it, but everyone else thinks I'm a bit odd, I think. My mom knows if I say, so and so from East Elvis, that it's a board person.

I purposely have never met IRL anyone from any boards that I post on for one reason. I tell my DD3 all the time about internet safety and the fact that you really don't know who you are talking to. So to meet people myself would not be the example I would want to show.

My DD2 met her boyfriend on line, but since they attend the same small college and have friends in common they probably would have met anyway. She IM'd a friend, he was not there so his room mate (the boyfriend) answered the IM, thinking that it was another friend of both he and my DD. That lead to a conversation which led to a meeting.

For me the most inexpensive airfare would be las vegas, however, nyc and washington, dc are good for me too.
