so you got divorced and to celebrate the event you have a trash the dress party, that includes spilling wine, dirt, whatever it takes to trash the wedding gown.

I agree when the price gets very expensive, AND....if you can not afford that expense.

We were engaged for 2 years and money was saved for the wedding and my head piece was a gift from my grandparents.

I do see the value of a much smaller wedding with a posh frock instead of a wedding dress, and we almost went that way.

I would do my wedding day over in a second. The expense was worth it, for us, because that is how we wanted to spend it. We didn't go into debt to do it either.

I think as long as you are not spending so much money that it will affect the marriage afterwards, then you should go as small or big as you want.
