Would you hire a hot nanny?

The other thread about being jealous of the nanny reminded me of this. Everyday when I come home from school I pass by the most gorgeous nanny (she looks all of 18), waiting with one of her charges for another one to get off the bus. She's been dressed in shorts up to there and low cut belly shirts. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would hire her. I mean, you can trust your husband but still, who needs it? Even if your husband didn't have a wandering eye, I'd hate to have to compare myself to some PYT all the time.

I had a friend who was rather average looking and she hired an absolute knockout of a nanny from Romania. This girl looked like a model, and she also used to run around in a t-shirt and panties.

Is it me, or would this bug anyone else?

The nanny being "hot looking" would not bother me. The nanny wearing inappropriate clothing (clothing that I would not want a daughter to emulate, nor a son to think acceptable behavior) would bother me.

As the job of nanny involves having a great deal of influence over my children, I would expect a nanny to take such aspects seriously and dress appropriately. This doesn't mean she can't dress fashionably or that I expect her in Mother Hubbards, either. But I would expect her dress to permit her to interact actively and physically with the children and I don't see short shorts, belly shirts or t-shirts/panties as appropriate dress for interactions and playtime with the kids--any more than I'd consider an RN in the emergency ward to be appropriately dressed if she were running around in stiletto heels. time and place matter.

I believe a very physically attractive nanny can be a good nanny; I'm not convinced that a nanny who does not understand appropriate dress (appropriate to her activities, etc.) can be a good nanny.

Heck yeah, I would.

Top photo, I'm the one on the right.

Seriously, I wouldn't, but my wife would. She's been trying to recruit a mistress for me for 6 and a half years. She won't believe me when I tell her that American men (versus Russian men) don't do that.

At least they don't if they want to keep their goodies attached.

I tend to not look at people. I probably wouldn't even notice if the nanny was hot.LOL

However, inappropriate clothing would be an entirely different story, no matter what the person looked like.

The answer is no, though, because I wouldn't hire a nanny. I don't like the idea of someone taking care of my child in my home.

That's what *I* keep telling her.

Plus with two teenage daughters, what's the chances that one of them *isn't* grounded for something - who needs a nanny at all?

What does her sexual pref. have to do with how she looks..or did you mean you dont have to worry about her and your dh. I think your comment was a bit silly since not all lesbians are butch i know quite a few BEAUTIFUL lesbians who are femmes inside and out and a few hotty's that are butch also.

ignore the thumbs up.

Thanks....I agree totally. I wouldn't discriminate against a beautiful nanny/sitter, but one who couldn't dress right wouldn't be hired. And actually, we're kind of in that position. We started using our pastor's daughter as our occasional sitter when she was 13 and pretty gawky looking --- tall and gangly, pimply, awkward, glasses and braces. She is now seventeen, tall and well-rounded, clear-skinned, gracious, contacts, straight teeth and looks like a renaissance angel with a figure to match. I'm not sure DH has noticed , but my 11 y/o son has a crush on her, lol....

I don't think I would be bothered so much by the fact that she was beautiful, but rather by the fact that she didn't dress conservatively. I wouldn't want someone dressed like a hoochie taking care of my kids. My personal opinion is that people in general should dress more conservatively and I would want to impart that on my kids. Hiring someone to care for them that didn't dress conservatively wouldn't really further that goal.

I am trying to imagine myself hiring a nanny. I agree with the dress issue. I don't think that I would discriminate against her only for beauty. She could be the best nanny out there! I have 3 little girls, and I have enough trouble getting them dressed without having to worry about arguing over what the nanny is allowed to wear.
