About 15 years ago, when my oldest brother was a very very curious kid (he had to know EVERYTHING everyone was saying at every moment), my mom and I were wrapping gifts. He came in mid-conversation right about when I said to my mom "Oh, I know, that Deb box!" (we were talking about finding a good box for a particular gift).

I did not see any posts that said you should change how you do stockings. I'm just commenting on my amusement that you seem to think there is some authority & right way to do it--evidently you thought Lois and a few others were wrong.

That's because in the Catholic church, marriage is a sacrament, and priests cannot charge a fee for the performance of a sacrament. Marriage is not a sacrament in the Protestant world, and the performances of marriages are not included in the pastor's regular salary, so it is common to charge a fee for the pastor's services, along with the organist, soloist, etc, if they are coming from church staff.

I really don't know. The rental of the church and arrangment of the priest was xh's and his family's responsibility. I simply know that his mom/dad said that Father Mickus refused the money they offered. So, they gave it to the church instead (on top of what they'd paid for the rental of the facility).

No, but I bet my kids would, if it was everyday clothes.
