We could have afforded more, but we spent probably $50 on Samantha's presents last year and will do the same this year. I mean how much stuff does a baby or toddler need? I've heard of several parents wrapping up diapers and putting those under the tree just so there is something for baby.

I don't. I go to Target and spend $3 shirts and pants and leave the good things for the nights and weekends.

What's fiscally responsible doesn't change because "it's Christmas."

"Were you the one that is spending $150 (from your mom) on American girl clothes and accessories (in addition to the doll)? And your kids will get tons of clothes from your mom? And then there will be presents from you on top of that? You really think that people reading your posts can't figure out that your kids get way more stuff for Christmas than theirs? It's fairly obvious to me that you spend way more than I do."

No. I said she purchased the doll, nothing extra.

But just because they might get more, I shop sales all the time and get very good deals for things so I CAN get more for my money.

My kids can't wear them to school...so I rarely buy shirts that they can't wear to school because every time I turn around, they get a tshirt from something or another.
