I don't think she had a choice as they could not pay the rent/mortgage (not sure which one). Don't you think that extra $200 or so a month could have helped? I doubt most people would choose to move 6 people into a 1,000 sq. ft. home as I can tell you my house is not much bigger than this and there are only 4 of us and a dog and it very tight but we purge alot, giving things away and don't have much clutter so we are fine.

Do you really think God would want you to spend your money on cable television and Christmas presents instead of donating your money to a soup kitchen or food pantry?

And I am 99% sure she was able to heat her home.

I am religious too but know that my family comes before my church and that god is all around me all the time and I don't need to give money that I really can not afford to.

You do realize that a 1000 sq. ft. home would look like a mansion to people in many places in the world?

Of course but not to the average working family. My home is considered a "starter" home as it is small. I could not put

I know a lot of people that live in apartments that don't run their heat. They don't need to. And I'm pretty sure Ducky is and has been in a good financial place for the past 3 years. I believe her $2300/mo. days were a long time ago. Plus, she talked about paying her heating bill during that time. Doesn't she live in the Northwest? I don't think the Northwest gets really cold due to ocean currents.

Imagine how many people could be fed Christmas dinner with even 10% of your Christmas bonus. Imagine how many cans of food a food pantry could give to needy families for the $100 or so dollars you spend on cable/internet/phone per month. I'll repeat my question: Do you really think God would want you to spend your money on cable television and Christmas presents instead of donating your money to a soup kitchen or food pantry?

Feeling overcrowded is subjective. Our house is tiny by many people's standards, yet the previous owners raised three kids here.

There are ELEVEN Starbucks in my city of less than 100,000 people. It's insanity. Plus, we also have the competition of a little coffee drive-thru chain (that I by far prefer)called Dutch Brothers. There are five of those.
