Well you are 100% wrong that she lived without heat.

Oh and... she downsized. She got a smaller home, that she could afford. She may have been down and out for the short period before she sold her bigger home and was struggling, but once she got rid of it, she was no longer down an out. She could afford everything that she had. And bought nothing on credit.

I think you live a VERY different lifestyle than myself, friends and family. While cable is a luxury, no one is considering it like that. I don't think you need cable to survive and if I could not pay my mortgage, I would not have it.

Do you live a similar life to Ducky and in the same area?

Just because everything has a home doesn't mean you don't live with some clutter nor does it mean that your space is used as efficiently as it could be.

People make choices, if they are wise or not.

No, I don't like religion shoved down my throat every 5 seconds. I am a religious, spiritual person. It doesn't mean I talk about it all the time.

I don't care what temp. people keep their heat on or if they have to wear layers to keep warm. We keep our heat at 65 during the day when we are out of the house and 70/71 when we are home. I do not like the cold and pay budget for my oil heat so my bill is the same 12 months out of the year and I never have an unexpected, more bill one month to another.

"When did I ever say what kind of home she should be living in? If she could have afforded her home, why did she move into an apartment"

You are saying right there what kind of home she should have been living in.

Yet, you are so quick to judge someone else's religious beliefs (i.e. Ducky's).

Our heat is always at 65. Occasionally, if I'm feeling cold, I turn it up to 68. We don't have trouble paying our heating bill.

"WHAT?? When did I ever say what kind of home she should be living in? If she could have afforded her home, why did she move into an apartment? Having 4 kids is not the time to downsize and you don't just leave something that is larger when you CAN afford it."

In the same breath that you say you aren't telling her what she should be living in.
