Glad that I am not the only one here. I am very fortunate to be able to do Christmas AND pay all my bills and save. I know people who take that last paycheck before Christmas and spend it on gifts. They don't even think about the rent or the electric bill. I do rely on the bonus checks and I know that is probably bad to do but if we didn't get them, I know we would still be able to buy things for Christmas and not owe for "5 months" (as the song says!) as many people do.

>>What did you do with the rest?<<

Probably saved it? I know it's hard to imagine, considering it burns holes in your pockets... LOL.

These are my best friends! The gifts this year are: KitchenAide mixer; ugg slippers (pink and very funny!); a small prada bag and a bottle of coco chanel. What good is money if you can't share it with family and friends? Seriously?

My biggest gift though every year is to a local rape crisis center.

I know that if I gave my children money for my grandchildren for Christmas or anything else because they could not afford it, I wouldn't want them putting it in savings when it was for a specific reason.

God I wish I could find someone who would come to MY house! I'd pay up for that convenience. How nice.

I hope I'm misunderstanding...

Yes, you are.

If Grandma is gong over board on getting gifts for the grandkids, then the parents can do a little less, lest the kids end up with a ridiculous amount of crap and become spoiled.

I also think taht if HE has already bought what gma wanted for the kids and has over $100 left, she could *suggest* to grandama to put it in savings for the kid.
