Actually, I know quite a few people who are minimalist and don't want a lot of things. I also know some people who don't believe in celebrating holidays, it is against their religion. It's not about being cheap. And you yet again misunderstand my point... You said that if one does not do gifts, they are not doing Christmas. THAT is shallow, that attitude. Giving gifts is not shallow.

What do YOU think she should spent her money on then if necessities are just not good enough?


My mom always gives them clothes as I am sure you know, kids grow out of things very fast and need new things every season. She wouldn't buy them junky toys that they would not play with in a week and I wouldn't buy them either with her or our money.
