I'm ambivalent about Starbucks. If I have a gift card and happen to be near one, I'll use it. But I don't actively seek them out. And I agree-- it's ridiculously overpriced. Plus, there's a great local coffee shop across the street from where I work.

Volunteering in my local church for the poor would not constitute me getting a gift. If I was volunteering as a religion teacher for my local church, teaching children each week, then that usually (not everyone gives gifts though) constitutes a gift.

I can't stand their coffee (tastes burned and is served way too hot) and their other stuff tastes chemically.
