Well IME, no. My children only my mom once or twice a year, my dh's mother every few years and my dh's father never for one of them. They still all send gifts to them-shrug.

My kids see their grandparents all the time. So I make sure they see them wearing the clothes they've given to them as gifts. Do you make sure to send your mom pictures of your kids wearing the clothes she bought? Oh, but wait, you pick that stuff out anyway, right? So it doesn't really apply in your case.

Yes, I realize that. Which is why I provided a different perspective. It's often advantageous to have multiple perspectives on a topic. Especially when the "second" perspective is of particular relevance to the discussion at hand.
