If you have an NCP who continuously makes plans with the child, then breaks them at the last minute, is it acceptable to not tell child about plans until the day of or until you receive confirmation from the NCP?

What about in a situation where the child is a teen and might possibly make plans for that day/time before confirmation from NCP?

Swimming... ....iz not for wuzzies...

We always told SD that BM had made DH aware of the fact that she *might* be planning something for that time.

I never, ever tell my son the plans that are made with his dad. I will tell him a few hours before. If dad bails, I tell him the plans changed. But my kid is still young enough to not be wise to what is really going on.

What I do is let them know that dad has X days (in our case, every other monday evening in the summer) and that he can come at those times, but we won't know for sure until he gets there. Since my kids are only 11 1/2 and 8 and have social issues, there aren't really any social plans they are missing out on. Hopefully soon there will be and I'll adjust to you can make plans with Tom, but dad will let us know by 4 if he is coming, or some crap like that...

sorry I don't think that's much help.

Because of the supervision sitch with us we never tell SS he's seeing his mum until it's confirmed for definite.

Yes. I do this often with exH.

I'd let NCP know of the plans when they call to try to confirm.
